El fanatismo y el Holocausto

El autor de este mensaje es el Dr. Emanuel Tanay, 1928-2014, judío sobreviviente del Holocausto, y conocido y muy respetado psiquiatra forense radicado en los EUA.

Un hombre, cuya familia pertenecía a la aristocracia alemana antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, fue propietario de una serie de grandes industrias y haciendas. Cuando se le preguntó ¿cuántos de los alemanes eran realmente nazis?, la respuesta que dio puede guiar nuestra actitud hacia el fanatismo.
«Muy pocas personas eran nazis en verdad» dijo, «pero muchos disfrutaban de la devolución del orgullo alemán, y muchos más estaban demasiado ocupados para preocuparse. Yo era uno de los que sólo pensaba que los nazis eran un montón de tontos.
Así, la mayoría simplemente se sentó a dejar que todo sucediera. Luego, antes de que nos diéramos cuenta, los nazis eran dueños de nosotros, se había perdido el control y el fin del mundo había llegado. Mi familia perdió todo. Terminé en un campo de concentración y los Aliados destruyeron mis fábricas…

Se nos dice que la gran mayoría de los musulmanes sólo quieren vivir en paz. El hecho es que los fanáticos dominan el Islam, tanto en este momento como en la historia. Son los fanáticos los que marchan. Se trata de los fanáticos los que producen guerras. Se trata de los fanáticos los que sistemáticamente masacran cristianos o grupos tribales en África y se van adueñando gradualmente de todo el continente en una ola islámica. Estos fanáticos son los que ponen bombas, decapitan, asesinan. Son los fanáticos los que toman mezquita tras mezquita.

Fanatismo: apasionamiento  y  tenacidad  desmedida  en  la  defensa  de  creencias  u  opiniones,  especialmente  religiosas  o  políticas.

Se trata de los fanáticos los que celosamente difunden la lapidación y la horca de las víctimas de violación y los homosexuales. Se trata de los fanáticos los que enseñan a sus jóvenes a matar y a convertirse en terroristas suicidas. El hecho cuantificable y duro es que la mayoría pacífica, la «mayoría silenciosa» es intimidada e imperceptible.

La Rusia comunista estaba compuesta de los rusos, que sólo querían vivir en paz. Sin embargo, los comunistas rusos fueron responsables por el asesinato de cerca de 50 millones de personas. La mayoría pacífica era irrelevante

La enorme población de China era también pacífica, pero los comunistas chinos lograron matar la asombrosa cifra de 70 millones de personas.

El individuo japonés medio antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial no era un belicista sádico. Sin embargo, Japón asesinó y masacró, en su camino hacia el sur de Asia Oriental, en una orgía de muerte que incluyó el asesinato sistemático, a 12 millones de civiles chinos, la mayoría muertos por espada, pala y bayoneta.

Y, ¿quién puede olvidar Ruanda, que se derrumbó en una carnicería?… ¿Podría no ser dicho que la mayoría de los ruandeses eran amantes de la paz?

Las lecciones de la historia son con frecuencia increíblemente simples y contundentes. Sin embargo, a pesar de todos nuestros poderes de la razón, muchas veces perdemos el más básico y sencillo de los puntos: Los musulmanes amantes de la paz se han hecho irrelevantes por su silencio. Los musulmanes amantes de la paz se convertirán en nuestro enemigo si no se pronuncian, porque al igual que mi amigo de Alemania, se despertarán un día y encontrarán que los fanáticos los poseen, y el fin de su mundo habrá comenzado. Los alemanes, amantes de la paz, japoneses, chinos, rusos, ruandeses, serbios, afganos, iraquíes, palestinos, somalíes, nigerianos, argelinos, y muchos otros han muerto a causa de que la mayoría pacífica no se pronunció hasta que fue demasiado tarde.
En cuanto a nosotros, que somos espectadores ante los eventos en desarrollo, debemos prestar atención al único grupo que cuenta: los fanáticos que amenazan nuestra forma de vida.
Por último, cualquiera que duda de que la cuestión sea grave y elimina este mensaje sin reenviarlo, está contribuyendo a la pasividad que permite a los problemas expandirse. Por lo tanto, entiéndete un poco a ti mismo y envía esto una y otra vez!
Esperemos que miles de personas, en todo el mundo, lean y piensen sobre este tema antes que sea demasiado tarde.
